SHY Holdings, led by CEO Hwang Kwang-soo, was awarded
the Grand Prize in the franchise category at the MoneyToday '2023 Korea Promising Enterprise Awards'
held on April 14th at the Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul.
The 'Korea Promising Enterprise Award' recognizes promising small and
medium enterprises across various industries that enhance corporate value,
implement management innovations, and fulfill social responsibilities.
SHY Holdings launched SHYMAN, the first unmanned 24-hour
adult goods store franchise in South Korea, starting with its first store in Jeju in 2018. Currently,
SHYMAN operates 139 franchise stores nationwide. Unlike traditional adult stores, which often have a secluded image,
SHYMAN stores feature a bright and open atmosphere that welcomes all visitors without any discomfort,
operating around the clock on a kiosk-based unmanned system.
Beyond merely generating revenue
through product distribution and sales, SHY Holdings aims to improve societal perceptions
and prejudices about sex, fostering a healthy sexual culture and enhancing the quality of life for citizens.
The company has also established a sexual education business
division and is committed to developing VR content and software
for sex education using its IT-based solutions and programming capabilities.
SHYMAN has recently moved to a new location in the
second phase of the Digital Empire in Suwon to prepare for
the opening of its 200th store and to enhance corporate solutions.
The new site features a massive digital logistics platform system,
which has reportedly improved delivery and inventory management
by more than three times according to the company.
